The weight loss industry is no doubt riddled with more myths than facts. You will find abundance of myths, half-truths and misinformation. Scarcely do anyone come up with some facts. In this article I will tell you about four facts of weight loss that you may not be aware of!

1. Grapes may help in weight loss: If you are in the habit of eating grapefruit everyday, make sure you maintain this habit. And try to add as much grapefruit to your diet as possible. This is because grapefruit can not only help you lose weight, but also save you from the harmful effects of diabetes!

2. Calcium and Vitamin D Supplements Help:
If you are obese you are no doubt also suffering from cardiovascular diseases. What you need to do is to reduce the level of cholesterol in your body. There is no better way to achieve it than using calcium and Vitamin D supplements. Recent research has proved that calcium not only helps one lose weight, it also brings down the level of cholesterol present in our body drastically!

3. Exercise is not mandatory: If you are afraid of exercises then don’t worry. You don’t need to exercise in order to lose weight. Sounds strange right? But it is a fact. If you follow a healthy diet plan you won’t need to exercise, as long as you are able to burn more calories than you consume. Usually, people with a high metabolic rate will be able to do it without the help of exercise.

For people with a low metabolic rate, they need to increase their physical activity level in some way or the other. Exercise surely boosts one’s metabolic rate, but recent research has also proved that if you don’t exercise regularly, you will begin to lose all of your lean muscles! As you can see, exercising is not mandatory, but rather necessary for the well being of your body!

4. Lack of sleep leads to weight again: Studies have pointed out that people who don’t get enough sleep usually end up gaining weight! This kind of unhealthy sleep pattern no doubt happens in developed countries such as United States of America, where people are so busy that they hardly have enough time for dinner, let alone sleep. However if you don’t get enough sleep in the day then all your weight loss efforts will simply go waste. Researchers have noticed that people who slept more usually lost weight quicker than those who got little or no sleep. Ideally, you should try to sleep as long as required!
