People want fast weight loss but rarely do they understand what is needed for that. Some people think that if they join some fad diet plan they would lose weight quick. Others try to do some cardios such as running and walking in order to lose weight. Still others use elliptical trainers because they are unobtrusive and can be used right from the comfort of one’s home. All these things help one to lose weight, but if you want to accelerate the process though, you must use resistance training or weight training.
Weight training is similar to just about any muscle building exercises, such as strength training. You are probably already familiar with weight training exercises: push-ups, sit-ups, squatting or just about any exercise that is designed to help one burn fat and build muscle.
Some people seem to have a misconception that weight training workouts are meant only for those who are looking forward to quite a huge figure. This is nothing more than a myth. Sure, weight training would help you build strong muscles, but if you want the huge biceps of the body builders, you need to do more than that; you’d need to eat a lot of food, take supplements and hormones, etc. Simply lifting some dumbbells and barbells is not going to help you become huge!
If you are a woman then there is more reason not to get afraid of acquiring a huge body and losing the feminine charm. Since women lack the hormone called testerone (that is available in men), it is even harder for them to acquire large muscles; if you are an ordinary woman who is dieting in order to lose weight, the worst that can happen to you is weight loss! Yep, you would simply lose your fat deposits and gain some muscles, but that’s it! You won’t look like bodybuilders, so there is no need to worry about it!
Weight training exercises come with many other benefits apart from weight loss. They help to build you strong bones that are immune to fractures and decay. Osteoporosis is a disease usually suffered by women and that is why they have even more reason than the guys to do resistance training on a regular basis.
I would say that if you are already controlling your food intake and want to lose weight fast, then exercising is the only way to do that. And if you really want to exercise, do some weight training. After all, you should invest your time only in workouts that work best for you, rather than waste it on losers!
